About Gonzales Dental Care

A two-doctor practice on 5th Street, serving Gonzales and the towns around it — in English and in Spanish.

The office

Gonzales Dental Care sits at 851‑H 5th Street in downtown Gonzales. It’s a deliberately small operation: two doctors, one team, and patients who get greeted by name. Appointments here aren’t stacked three-deep, which is why visits start on time and nobody rushes your questions.

The philosophy is simple enough to fit on a sticky note: explain everything, price everything, and never sell treatment a patient doesn’t need. Patients tend to mention exactly that in their reviews — care explained clearly, options laid out fairly, and no pressure.

The doctors

Dr. James Kim practices comprehensive general dentistry — exams and cleanings through crowns, dentures, and extractions. If patients repeat one thing about him, it’s that he takes the time to explain what he finds and gives fair recommendations, including the recommendation to do nothing when nothing is what’s needed.

Dr. Cindy Kim practices alongside him with the same approach: careful work, plain explanations, and particular patience with anxious patients — including the ones who arrive saying “I hate the dentist.” (We don’t take it personally. We usually change their mind.)

Between them, the two doctors cover the full range of family dentistry, so your whole household can be seen in one office — in English or Spanish.

Part of the neighborhood

Gonzales is a small town and we get to run into our patients at the grocery store, which is exactly the accountability we want. We’ve served Salinas Valley families for years — many of whom first came in for a toothache and stayed for the checkups. If you’re new to town or just tired of driving to Salinas for dental care, come meet us.

Questions we hear a lot

Which doctor will I see?
Whichever doctor you start with, we try to keep you with — continuity is the point of a small practice. If you have a preference, just tell the front desk when you book.
Do you treat patients from outside Gonzales?
All the time. Our patients come from Soledad, Chualar, Greenfield, Salinas, and everywhere in between — and a few loyal ones from much farther than that.
¿Puedo hacer todo en español?
Sí — desde la llamada para agendar su cita hasta la explicación de su tratamiento. También tenemos el formulario de registro en español.
What happens if I need a specialist?
We tell you, plainly, and refer you to specialists we trust — oral surgeons, endodontists, orthodontists. Your general dentist should be the person who coordinates your care, not the one who stretches past their lane.
